ये खबर कंपनी के संज्ञान में लाई गई है कि कुछ लोग खुद को मर्सिडीज-बेंज इंडिया प्राइवेट लिमिटेड (मर्सिडीज-बेंज इंडिया) के कर्मचारी या अधिकृत प्रतिनिधि के रूप में धोकाधडी ऐवा गैरकनुनी गलत तरीके से प्रस्तुत कर रहे हैं। ये लोग वेबसाइट, टेलीफोन कॉल, ईमेल, व्हाट्सएप, एसएमएस आदि के माध्यम से नौकरी के उम्मीदवारों को धोखा धड़ी से नकली नियुक्ति पत्र प्रदान कर रहे हैं। इसके पश्चात मर्सिडीज-बेंज इंडिया में नौकरी पाने के लिए फीस, जमा या अन्य राशि की मांग करते हैं, ऐसे प्रयासों का उद्देश्य उम्मीदवारों से अवैध रूप से पैसे ऐंठना होता है। कृपया ध्यान दें कि ये व्यक्ति फर्जी नियुक्ति पत्रों पर मर्सिडीज-बेंज के नाम, ट्रेडमार्क, लोगो और कुछ मौजूदा एवं पूर्व कर्मचारियों के नामों का भी अवैध रूप से उपयोग कर रहे हैं।
इसलिए, इन बेईमान व्यक्तियों के लिखित संचार में धोखे से मर्सिडीज-बेंज के कर्मचारियों का नाम, पदनाम, लेटरहेड या ईमेल हो सकता है, जिसका उपयोग धोखा देने के लिए किया जाता हैं।

Terms & Conditions of ”Love For The Star” Contest by Mercedes-Benz India
1. An individual being a citizen of India and having attained the age of 18 years or above shall be eligible to participate in the ‘Love For The Star’ Contest (hereinafter referred to as ‘contest’).
2. Mercedes-Benz India Private Limited (hereinafter referred to as Mercedes-Benz India) has initiated this contest and any participation in this Contest shall be voluntary.
3. Employees of Mercedes-Benz India and their blood relatives are not eligible to participate or win any prizes under this Contest. The residents of Tamil Nadu shall not be eligible to participate in the Contest in compliance with the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Prize Scheme (Prohibition) Act, 1979.
4. The Contest shall start on 12th Feb and end on 14th Feb 2022 (12:00 Hours IST). Mercedes-Benz India may curtail or extend the contest period, at its sole discretion without any prior intimation.
5. The participant shall follow Mercedes-Benz India’s Instagram, Facebook and either comment on the contest announcement post or share an image/video expressing their #LoveForTheStar.
6. A video or image post shall qualify as an eligible entry to the Contest only if the participant tags @mercedesbenzind and uses #LoveForTheStar hashtag in the post.
7. The Contest will be conducted on Instagram and Facebook and the criteria for winner selection will be based on a lucky draw. Ten(10) lucky winners will get some exciting goodies from Mercedes-Benz India.
8. The Winners shall be selected solely by Mercedes-Benz India via a lucky draw to be held at its registered office. Ten (10) lucky winners will be selected by way of a random selection process in a lucky draw. Winners will be announced on social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook) in the 1st week of March 2022 and after the details verification the prizes will be sent to the lucky winners.
9. Upon intimation of being selected as a Winner, the Winner will be required to submit his/her identity proof. Winners hereby acknowledge that their personal data including but not being limited to name, contact details, address, identity proof documents will be obtained as a part of the Contest and in order to verify the Winners and that they do not have an objection to the said collection and processing of personal data. Winners hereby grant Mercedes-Benz India the right to use their personal data as mentioned above, as would be required for the purpose of this Contest. Mercedes-Benz India shall take all decisions in respect to this Contest, including but not limited to the procedure of selection of winners, type of prizes, time for announcement etc. and the same will be final and binding on a non-contestable basis.
10. If the prize is unclaimed /undeliverable Mercedes-Benz India reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner.
11. Prizes/Goodies are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Mercedes-Benz India shall not be liable and it accepts no responsibility for any winner’s prize in case of non-confirmation.

Important Information on Payment Services
1. This payment will be processed by the Payment Service Provider i.e PayU Payments Private Limited trading as PayU in association with Mercedes pay GmbH (Mercedes pay), on behalf of Mercedes-Benz India Private Limited(MB India).
2. The payment methods provided by PayU and Mercedes pay are secure and comply with global industry standards for payment processing including PCI DSS.
3. Your financial details shall not be stored by Mercedes pay, Authorised Agent or MB India (collectively referred to as ‘Parties’).
4. MB India and/or Mercedes pay shall not be held liable for any additional charges imposed on the transaction by the Bank or Financial Institution whose banking/financial services including but not limited to UPI, Credit Card, Debit Card, Netbanking, are being used by the customer.
5. In case of any discrepancy in the payment amount, the customer and the Authorised Agent shall mutually agree to the amount of refund, if any. The refund amount so agreed shall be refunded via the same mode as that of the payment within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of such mutual decision.
6. The parties may collect personal and sensitive personal Information about the customer including but not being limited to the name, address, contact details, payment transaction details etc. for the purpose of facilitating and/or completing the payment and its associated transactions if any. The customer agrees to the collection of such personal and sensitive personal information by the parties as will be required to execute and complete the payments and its associated transactions.
7. Further, the customer is aware and acknowledges that the personal information/data including vehicle data submitted by the customer may be transferred to and/or processed by MB India, its Authorised Franchise Partner and / or Authorized Dealer, Mercedes-Benz Group AG and/or any Mercedes-Benz Group Company wherever located for effecting the payment or any other activity required to be carried out for providing efficient services in relation to the workshop/job order.

Terms and Conditions of Win an experience with M.S Dhoni (“Contest”) by Mercedes-Benz India:
1. An individual being a citizen of India and having purchased a Mercedes-Benz Car (“Vehicle”) between 1st September 2023 and 30th November 2023 (both days inclusive) shall be eligible to participate in the Contest. This contest is limited to the purchase of A-Class, C-Class and E-Class. This Contest is initiated by Mercedes-Benz India Private Limited (“Mercedes-Benz”) and any participation in this Contest shall be voluntary.
2. Employees of Mercedes-Benz and their blood relatives are not eligible to participate or win any prizes under this Contest. The residents of Tamil Nadu shall not be eligible to participate in the Contest in compliance with the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Prize Scheme (Prohibition) Act, 1979.

8. Mercedes-Benz shall not be responsible for obtaining the travel insurance of the winner. Travel insurance related formalities shall be completed by and charges shall be borne by the winners for themselves.
9. Mercedes-Benz will announce and communicate to the winners via email. The winners shall reply to the email and acknowledge the acceptance of the prize within 15 days of receiving the email. If the prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse, and Mercedes-Benz reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with these rules.
10. In case of any unforeseen travel restrictions or event cancellation the winners would be eligible for a complimentary reward in cash or kind. The complimentary reward shall be offered on non-negotiable basis. Decision taken by Mercedes-Benz shall be final and binding in this regard.
11. The participant shall not claim any intellectual Property right violation over the content, views and / or ideas shared or posted in regard to the Contest on the social media.
12. Winner are aware that their images/videos may be captured as a part of the Contest and they do not have an objection to the said capturing of images/videos. 15. By entering the Contest, the participants agree not to make any claims (including special, indirect and consequential losses) against Mercedes-Benz India or its directors and employees and any losses, claims and actions of any kind resulting from the Contest and acceptance of any prize, shall be at the sole liability of the Winner.
16. Mercedes-Benz may be due to any Force Majeure event suspend, postpone or cancel the contest particularly the face of challenge and the contestants will not be entitled to claim any compensation, costs for such postponement, suspension or cancellation.
17. By participating in this Contest, the participants accept and agree with the Terms and Conditions of participation as specified above.
Terms and Conditions of Sustainability Drive Tournament (“Contest”) by Mercedes-Benz India Private Limited (“Mercedes-Benz”):
1. This Contest is initiated by Mercedes-Benz and any participation in this Contest shall be voluntary. By participating in this Contest, the participants accept and agree with the Terms and Conditions of participation as specified below
2. Eligibility to the Contest:
a) Must be a citizen of India.
b) Must have participated in the Mercedes-Benz Golf Tournament schedule from 3rd November to 31st December 2023.
c) Must have mandatorily booked a test drive for EQS 580 between 1st November 2023 and 31st December 2023 (both days inclusive).
3. Non-Eligibility to the Contest:
a) Employees of Mercedes-Benz and their blood relatives are not eligible to participate or win any prizes under this Contest.
b) The residents of Tamil Nadu shall not be eligible to participate in the Contest in compliance with the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Prize Scheme (Prohibition) Act, 1979.
4. Tenure of Contest:
a) The Contest starts on 10:00AM 1st November 2023 and ends on 23:00PM 31st December 2023 (Hours IST). Mercedes-Benz reserves the right to curtail or extend the contest period, at its sole discretion as may be deemed fit in the interest of the contest. MB India reserves the rights to revoke this contest anytime without any prior intimation.
5. Winner selection by Mercedes-Benz:
a) Mercedes-Benz shall take all decisions in respect to this Contest, including but not limited to type of prizes, venue, date & time for announcement of results, publication of results etc. and the same will be final and binding on a non-contestable basis.
b) Entries will be judged on the basis of random selector by Mercedes-Benz. The decision of Mercedes-Benz shall be final and binding.
c) Mercedes-Benz will announce and communicate to the winners via email. The winners shall reply to the email and acknowledge the acceptance of the prize within 15 days of receiving the email. 6. Contest Prize:
a) The winner of the Contest will get an EQS 580 (“Vehicle”) along with wall box charger required for the Vehicle for a period of one year. The one-year period commences from the date of handing over the vehicle to the winner.
b) The winner shall be solely responsible for making all required arrangements for charger Installation including enhancement of electricity load etc from the Electricity Distribution Company. The cost of installation of charger shall be borne by the MBIL. Any changes/ modifications or permissions required shall be borne by the winner.
c) Acceptance of prize shall be at the sole liability of the winner.
d) The Vehicle will be made available by the Mercedes-Benz in the resident state of the winner.
e) The Vehicle will be comprehensively insured and registered at the winner's location.
f) A MoU regarding usage of the Vehicle will be executed between Mercedes-Benz and the Winner.
g) The winner needs to make themselves available for collection of the Vehicle at venue and date duly decided by Mercedes-Benz (“Venue”) in due course. The cost of travel to the Venue for the winners shall be borne by winner.
h) Taxes deductible on above winning/prize, if any, will be borne by MB India.
7. Obligations of the winner:
a) The Vehicle will be owned by MB India and as such the winner shall use it prudently and with care.
b) The winner shall at all times not give the Vehicle to any third person for driving except its immediate family members i.e. spouse, daughter, son, who holds a valid driving license.
c) The winner shall ensure that winner or its immediate family members driving the Vehicle shall possess a valid driving license (while driving the vehicle) shall comply with the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and any statutory amendments, modifications, re-enactments thereof and any other applicable law/s.
d) The Vehicle shall be parked in a protected / enclosed area to guard against vandalism or theft.
e) The Vehicle shall not be used for stunt driving / racing or in any way involving an element of risk or for any other illegal purpose.
f) The Vehicle shall not be driven under the influence of any kind of alcohol, intoxication, consumption of drugs etc.
g) The winner undertakes to comply with all the rules, regulations, statues, notifications, speed limits of various roads, highways, during possession and use of the Vehicle.
h) Electricity Consumption Charges during the period of one year shall be borne by the winner.
i) In case of any accident or damage while the Vehicle is in the possession of the winner, Mercedes-Benz shall be immediately intimated about the same. The Winner shall be liable to pay Mercedes-Benz for cost of any damage not covered by the insurance policy.
j) The Winner shall be solely liable and responsible for payment of fines, penalties and levied for violation of Traffic Laws.
k) The Winner shall take the Vehicle to the nearest authorized dealer workshop for any service measure / recall if announced on the Vehicle by Mercedes-Benz.
l) Mercedes-Benz is not obliged to provide an alternate vehicle during the time the Vehicle is in the workshop for any reason.
m) The Winner shall return the Vehicle immediately upon completion of 1 year from the date of handover .
n) Winner shall provide his PAN to MB India for Tax reporting, if any.
8. Rights of Mercedes-Benz:
a) MBIPL reserves absolute right to call the Vehicle back at any time without any prior notice if the Vehicle is misused or poorly handled or if in the opinion of Mercedes-Benz, the rules and regulations under the Motor Vehicles Act have not been complied with
b) Mercedes-Benz may inspect the Vehicle from time to time after giving the Winner a reasonable advance notice.
9. Intellectual Property:
a) The winner shall not claim any intellectual Property right violation over the content, views and / or ideas shared or posted in regard to the Contest on the social media.
b) Any publicity or use of photographs or MBIPL’s registered trademark is strictly prohibited, unless, previously approved in writing by Mercedes-Benz.
10. Consent to Data:
a) Participants hereby acknowledge that their personal data including but not being limited to name, contact details, address, identity proof documents etc. will be obtained as a part of the Contest and that they do not have an objection to the said capturing of personal data. Participants hereby grant Mercedes-Benz the right to use their personal data as mentioned above, as would be required for the purpose of this Contest.
b) Winner is aware that their images/videos may be captured as a part of the Contest, and they do not have an objection to the said capturing of images/videos. They hereby grant Mercedes-Benz the right to use and / or share the images and videos with their event partners for any promotional purpose related to the Contest.
11. Indemnity:
a) In consideration of the winner being permitted to use the Vehicle, the said the winner shall indemnify and keep Mercedes-Benz indemnified and harmless for and against all liabilities, whatsoever, including criminal liability arising out of any accident or damage, which may occur to Mercedes-Benz or to any other third party towards any payment which may become payable under / pursuant to the said accident or otherwise and against all actions, proceedings, claims, damages, cost and expenses, whatsoever, in relation thereto or arising out of the use of the Vehicle by the winner.
b) Moreover, the winner shall indemnify and keep indemnified Mercedes-Benz, its officers, directors, employees, authorised Franchise Partners and dealer(s), Event Management Company or any of its agency against any lien, suit, cause of action, claim, demand or liability that would otherwise incur, arising from such loss, damage or injury pursuant to the party’s participation during the test drive.
c) Further, Mercedes-Benz, its officers, directors, employees, its Authorised Franchise Partners and Dealer(s), Event Management Company or any of its agency shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury or illness whether direct, indirect or consequential of whatsoever nature and howsoever caused, suffered by the winner (to his person or property) or to the person accompanying him/her, as a result directly or indirectly, of attending the event and/or participating in the activities, including but not limited to health problems, medical expenses, accidental death or disability, high jacking, baggage loss, loss of cash or other belongings or travel documents, whilst on journey or otherwise, during the use of the Vehicle.
12. Jurisdiction:
a) Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Contest shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts at Pune only.
13. Force Majeure:
b) Mercedes-Benz may be due to any Force Majeure event suspend, postpone or cancel the contest particularly the face of challenge and the contestants will not be entitled to claim any compensation, costs for such postponement, suspension or cancellation.

i. This document serves as a general overview of the functioning of the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) of Mercedes- Benz E Class Sedan (Vehicle) and gives important information with respect to the deployment/triggering of airbags. The overview and the information contained in this document, however, should not be construed as any definitive guide regarding triggering of the SRS as variety of factors influence the functioning of SRS.
ii. We strongly recommend that the potential/ existing customer(s) of the Vehicle should review and understand the information regarding SRS system (including airbags) and other Vehicle functions, including their respective limitations as enumerated in this document. Further, we urge our potential customers to carry out the necessary due diligence on the technicalities of the subject Mercedes- Benz Vehicle before purchasing the Vehicle and our existing customers while using the Vehicle.
B. General Overview of the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) in the Vehicle
The purpose of this document is to make you familiar as a customer or potential customer with the general functioning and operation of the Vehicle’s Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) including seatbelts, airbags and the passenger safety in a Vehicle.
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS): The Vehicle’s restraint system is a collection of safety features to protect occupants in critical driving situation and also in the event of a collision. The primary goal of these features is to protect the passengers inside the Vehicle, thereby reducing the risk of severe injury. The Vehicle’s restraint system comprises of seatbelts, Emergency Tensioning Devices (ETDs) and airbags. Below is a detailed overview of the components and functions of the Vehicle’s restraint system.
i. Seatbelt: The Primary Restraint System in a passenger Vehicle is the seatbelt which is provided for each seating position in the Vehicle. Each seatbelt is equipped with a mechanical locking system, which is designed to lock-up during driving situations that lead to rapid web spool out, longitudinal or lateral accelerations upon the Vehicle and elevated Vehicle tilt, so as to properly restrain the occupant in the seat during a potentially critical driving event.
Note: The owner’s manual of the Vehicle recommends the use of the seatbelt at all times, as it is the primary safety device in the Vehicle. It is also mandated by law (The Motors Vehicles Act, 1988 and the relevant rules framed thereunder) to wear seat belt (for both front and rear passengers) at all times while the Vehicle is in use.
ii. Emergency tensioning devices (ETD): The Vehicles are also equipped with belt tensioners (Emergency Tensioning Devices – ETDs) at both front seats as well as the rear outer seats. The primary function of ETD is to eliminate belt-slack arising, for example, from careless fastening or from bulky clothing while the occupant is seated. This will ensure that the occupant is appropriately restrained in the seating position in the early phase of the incident with the Vehicle. When activated, the ETD will tighten the seatbelt by retracting the seatbelt. Please note that the ETD is not designed to pull an occupant back or down into his or her seat. The function of ETD is only to remove excessive slackness in the seatbelt, if any. After a severe crash an increased slack can be noticed, which is caused by the belt’s load limiter which reduces forces acting on the occupant’s chest.
iii. Airbags: Depending on the Vehicle model and configuration, the Vehicles are equipped with different airbags which may include two front airbags, a driver’s knee airbag, two side airbags for the front passengers and window curtain airbags on both sides for rear and front passengers, etc. Please refer to the technical specifications of your Vehicle for exact number and type of airbags fitted in the Vehicle.
Crash Tests: The Vehicle is successfully crash tested and certified as per applicable automotive regulations / standards in India as per the following details -
Additionally, the Vehicle was crash tested in accordance with worldwide mandatory regulations & standards as well as Mercedes-Benz internal standards, exceeding the legal requirements.
C. Functioning of the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)
The functioning and effectiveness of the restraint system depends on the severity of the impact and the apparent type of accident and other influences like compatibility or deformability of the impacted object. The accident type may generally be categorized as follows: -
a) Frontal impact
b) Rear impact
c) Side impact
d) Rollover
The components of the restraint system work in a synchronized manner, or in tandem with each other. In certain accidents (which are not severe, because of low acting forces on the Vehicle causing only comparably low deceleration), the seatbelt itself with its locking mechanism provides sufficient protection for occupants who have their seat belts properly fastened. However, if the Vehicle detects a higher impact severity, the belt tensioners (ETDs) are activated.
i. The decision for the activation of the appropriate restraint component is variable and entirely depends on the impact characteristics and/or objects involved in the collision and also varies significantly depending on the resultant direction of the impact force. The SRS control unit in the Vehicle continually monitors and controls all the restraint system components. The Electronic sensors integrated in this control unit continually measure the acceleration and deceleration (i.e. the rate at which a Vehicle slows down rapidly) forces acting on the Vehicle in the longitudinal and lateral directions. The control unit is complemented by additional crash sensors at the front and sides of the Vehicle.
The placement of SRS system sensors in the Vehicle is represented below -

ii. Also, the deformation characteristics or damage pattern (howsoever severe it may look to the naked eye) alone cannot indicate if the airbags should have deployed. During a crash/accident, the Vehicle may be deformed significantly without an airbag being deployed. This is the case if parts which are relatively easily deformed are affected and the rate of Vehicle deceleration is relatively low. Conversely an airbag may be deployed even though the Vehicle suffers only minor deformation, if for example, very rigid and/or structural parts such as longitudinal members are hit, as this may result in sufficiently high level of Vehicle deceleration. Hence, factors which can only be seen after a collision has occurred cannot play a decisive role in airbag deployment nor do they provide an indication of airbag deployment.
iii. The airbags are deployed, in a sophisticated manner to ensure its effectiveness in passenger safety. Thus, the deployment of airbags is determined by the distribution of forces during the collision, collision angle, deformation characteristics, the object of impact and its deformation or energy absorbing characteristics.
iv. The front airbags primarily have the function of preventing or mitigating driver’s head contact with the steering wheel and front passenger’s head contact with the dashboard. However, such a situation is only possible if high longitudinal impact forces act on the rigid structure of the Vehicle. Front airbags are not designed to deploy in situations such as rollovers, rear or side collisions, where it cannot provide any additional safety to the occupants.
v. Underride is a special kind of frontal impact situation where the vehicle slides under a larger vehicle like a truck or a trailer. In such collisions, rigid structures of the vehicle are not hit in the very beginning. This may lead to a low deceleration of the Vehicle and the seat belts in such cases generally provide sufficient restraining protection to the occupants. In case of an underride collision at a higher speed, the potential intrusion into the passenger compartment cannot be mitigated by airbags due to structural stiffness in the upper A-pillar region of the Vehicle.
vi. It is important to note that belt tensioners (ETD’s) or airbags are only activated if they can offer added protection over that of the seat belt. Belt tensioners or airbags can only be activated once, and the deployment decision is generally weighed by the SRS control unit / system installed in the Vehicle.
vii. During severe side impacts in the area of the Passenger Section with strong lateral deceleration, the side airbag(s) and window airbag(s) may be activated on the impacted side of the Vehicle. The primary purpose of deploying side airbag is to reduce the risk of severe injuries in the thorax region of a human body. The primary purpose of deploying window curtain airbag is to reduce the potential severe head injuries to the occupants. Side airbag(s) are not designed to deploy during frontal or rear collisions, because a side airbag would not provide an occupant with any added safety benefit during such impacts on account of the occupant kinematics/movements that result from such impacts.
viii. It is important to note that the Vehicle is designed to maintain the integrity of the occupant compartment/ Passenger Section, even in the event of an accident involving significant energy, depending on the impact scenario. This is limited to the accident severity as tested in the worldwide existing crash test standards. For Example, the Vehicle features a crumple zone, which absorbs, reduces, and redirects impact forces to protect the passenger compartment. This zone helps to manage and dissipate the energy of the collision, allowing the Vehicle’s frontal components to absorb impact energy and thereby prevent it from reaching the passenger compartment/ section. As a result, the occupant area/ Passenger Section remains more protected, even if the Vehicle's exterior sustains major visible damage. It is reiterated that visible Vehicle damage cannot and does not indicate that the SRS components must deploy.

D. Important Points
i. Vehicles are carefully engineered to minimize the energy transferred to occupants during a collision, thereby reducing the risk of injury.
ii. It is important to note that there are numerous factors in an accident / collision as stated above which determine the potential impact energy of an accident through various sensors, SRS control unit / system and makes a dynamic decision regarding triggering of Supplemental Restraint System including airbags.
iii. Due to mass inertia, the movement of an occupant during an accident is always contrary to the impacting force. Depending on the direction of force and impact severity, only those restraint system components that may provide a protective effect related to the direction of movement of the occupant are deployed.
iv. The deformation characteristics, the impact speed or damage pattern alone do not determine whether airbags will deploy. This is because the crumple zone is designed to absorb, reduce, and redirect impact forces. If these forces are adequately absorbed and managed by the crumple zone, there may be no need for the airbags to deploy.
v. The seat belt is the Primary Restraint System in the Vehicle, and it is necessary to wear the seatbelts for all the occupants in the Vehicle (both front and rear seat occupants). SRS can provide best possible protection only if safety belts are worn appropriately by the occupants. It is also mandated by law to wear the seatbelt (both for front and rear passengers) when the Vehicle is in use.
vi. The airbag serves ONLY as a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). Airbag deployment is a controlled mechanism as it’s unnecessary deployment can cause serious injuries to the occupant.
vii. Please note that any impact will expose Vehicle occupants to high forces. It is also important to note that no system available today can eliminate injuries and fatalities in every accident situation. In particular, the seat belt and airbag generally do not protect against objects penetrating the Vehicle from outside. It is also not possible to completely rule out the risk of injury to the occupant/s caused by airbag deployment.
viii. Please also read the Owner’s Manual of the Vehicle carefully which may additionally include information about Vehicle specific details.
ix. Please also refer to 'Hazards' and 'Safety' instructions and warnings regarding seat belts and airbags in the manual including the instructions on how to properly sit in the Vehicle enabling the restraint system to work as designed.
x. Please pay special attention towards Child Restraint System’s functioning and operating instructions in the owner’s manual to ensure safety of the child while seated in the Vehicle.

The decision for the activation of the appropriate restraint component is variable and entirely depends on the impactcharacteristics and/or objects involved in the collision and also varies significantly depending on the resultant direction of theimpact force. The SRS control unit in the Vehicle continually monitors and controls all the restraint system components. TheElectronic sensors integrated in this control unit continually measure the acceleration and deceleration (i.e. the rate at which aVehicle slows down rapidly) forces acting on the Vehicle in the longitudinal and lateral directions. The control unit iscomplemented by additional crash sensors at the front and sides of the Vehicle.
ii. Also, the deformation characteristics or damage pattern (howsoever severe it may look to the naked eye) alone cannotindicate if the airbags should have deployed. During a crash/accident, the Vehicle may be deformed significantly without anairbag being deployed. This is the case if parts which are relatively easily deformed are affected and the rate of Vehicledeceleration is relatively low. Conversely an airbag may be deployed even though the Vehicle suffers only minor deformation,if for example, very rigid and/or structural parts such as longitudinal members are hit, as this may result in sufficiently highlevel of Vehicle deceleration. Hence, factors which can only be seen after a collision has occurred cannot play a decisive rolein airbag deployment nor do they provide an indication of airbag deployment.
iii. The airbags are deployed, in a sophisticated manner to ensure its effectiveness in passenger safety. Thus, the deployment ofairbags is determined by the distribution of forces during the collision, collision angle, deformation characteristics, the objectof impact and its deformation or energy absorbing characteristics.
iv. The front airbags primarily have the function of preventing or mitigating driver’s head contact with the steering wheel andfront passenger’s head contact with the dashboard. However, such a situation is only possible if high longitudinal impactforces act on the rigid structure of the Vehicle. Front airbags are not designed to deploy in situations such as rollovers, rear orside collisions, where it cannot provide any additional safety to the occupants.
v. Underride is a special kind of frontal impact situation where the vehicle slides under a larger vehicle like a truck or a trailer. Insuch collisions, rigid structures of the vehicle are not hit in the very beginning. This may lead to a low deceleration of the Vehicle and the seat belts in such cases generally provide sufficient restraining protection to the occupants. In case of anunderride collision at a higher speed, the potential intrusion into the passenger compartment cannot be mitigated by airbagsdue to structural stiffness in the upper A-pillar region of the Vehicle.
vi. It is important to note that belt tensioners (ETD’s) or airbags are only activated if they can offer added protection over that ofthe seat belt. Belt tensioners or airbags can only be activated once, and the deployment decision is generally weighed by theSRS control unit / system installed in the Vehicle.
vii. During severe side impacts in the area of the Passenger Section with strong lateral deceleration, the side airbag(s) and windowairbag(s) may be activated on the impacted side of the Vehicle. The primary purpose of deploying side airbag is to reduce therisk of severe injuries in the thorax region of a human body. The primary purpose of deploying window curtain airbag is toreduce the potential severe head injuries to the occupants. Side airbag(s) are not designed to deploy during frontal or rearcollisions, because a side airbag would not provide an occupant with any added safety benefit during such impacts on accountof the occupant kinematics/movements that result from such impacts.
viii.It is important to note that the Vehicle is designed to maintain the integrity of the occupant compartment/ Passenger Section,even in the event of an accident involving significant energy, depending on the impact scenario. This is limited to the accidentseverity as tested in the worldwide existing crash test standards. For Example, the Vehicle features a crumple zone, whichabsorbs, reduces, and redirects impact forces to protect the passenger compartment. This zone helps to manage anddissipate the energy of the collision, allowing the Vehicle’s frontal components to absorb impact energy and thereby preventit from reaching the passenger compartment/ section. As a result, the occupant area/ Passenger Section remains moreprotected, even if the Vehicle's exterior sustains major visible damage. It is reiterated that visible Vehicle damage cannot anddoes not indicate that the SRS components must deploy.
D. Important Points
i. Vehicles are carefully engineered to minimize the energy transferred to occupants during a collision, thereby reducing therisk of injury.
ii. It is important to note that there are numerous factors in an accident / collision as stated above which determine the potentialimpact energy of an accident through various sensors, SRS control unit / system and makes a dynamic decision regardingtriggering of Supplemental Restraint System including airbags.
iii. Due to mass inertia, the movement of an occupant during an accident is always contrary to the impacting force. Depending onthe direction of force and impact severity, only those restraint system components that may provide a protective effectrelated to the direction of movement of the occupant are deployed.
iv. The deformation characteristics, the impact speed or damage pattern alone do not determine whether airbags will deploy.This is because the crumple zone is designed to absorb, reduce, and redirect impact forces. If these forces are adequatelyabsorbed and managed by the crumple zone, there may be no need for the airbags to deploy.
v. The seat belt is the Primary Restraint System in the Vehicle, and it is necessary to wear the seatbelts for all the occupants inthe Vehicle (both front and rear seat occupants). SRS can provide best possible protection only if safety belts are wornappropriately by the occupants. It is also mandated by law to wear the seatbelt (both for front and rear passengers) when theVehicle is in use.vi. The airbag serves ONLY as a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). Airbag deployment is a controlled mechanism as it’sunnecessary deployment can cause serious injuries to the occupant.
vii. Please note that any impact will expose Vehicle occupants to high forces. It is also important to note that no system availabletoday can eliminate injuries and fatalities in every accident situation. In particular, the seat belt and airbag generally do notprotect against objects penetrating the Vehicle from outside. It is also not possible to completely rule out the risk of injury tothe occupant/s caused by airbag deployment.
viii.Please also read the Owner’s Manual of the Vehicle carefully which may additionallyinclude information about Vehiclespecific details.
ix. Please also refer to ‘Hazards’ and ‘Safety’ instructions and warnings regarding seat belts and airbags in the manual includingthe instructions on how to properly sit in the Vehicle enabling the restraint system to work as designed.
x. Please pay special attention towards Child Restraint System’s functioning and operating instructions in the owner’s manual toensure safety of the child while seated in the Vehicle.
