A simple one-time registration provides access to all providers in the MB.CHARGE Public network, with automatic calculation and detailed overviews of your charges.

MB.CHARGE Public is available in all Mercedes Electric Vehicles as well as in selected plug-in hybrid vehicles. Please check with your Mercedes-Benz dealer for the most up-to-date offer.

To use the MB.CHARGE Public service, you need a registered Mercedes-Benz account and the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of your Mercedes-Benz electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. Please enable MB.CHARGE Public and Display of Charging Stations Services from the 'Manage Digital Extras' section.

The charging functions are seamlessly integrated into the MBUX Multimedia System and the Mercedes-Benz App. Authentication at the charging stations is always done in the same user-friendly and familiar way: via the Mercedes-Benz App, the MB.CHARGE Public RFID card, or directly via Plug & Charge with supported car lines and charging stations.

If you are unable to activate MB.CHARGE Public, ensure your email address is registered in your Mercedes-Benz account and that all contact details are accurate and up to date. You can easily locate charging stations using your MBUX multimedia system or the Mercedes-Benz App. Tip: Utilize the ‘Send to Car’ function for seamless navigation.

This indicates that the specific charging station is not compatible with MB.CHARGE Public, meaning that you cannot use MB.CHARGE Public or the Mercedes-Benz App to initiate or process payments for charging at that station.

To ensure a seamless and successful charging experience with your Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle, please follow these steps when initiating a charging session remotely via the Mercedes-Benz app, the MBUX system in your car, or with an RFID card: 

Connect the Charging Gun First: Always physically plug the charging connector ("gun") into your vehicle's charging port before initiating the charging session through any remote method.

Initiate Charging Remotely: Once the charging gun is securely connected, you can then start the charging session via the Mercedes-Benz app, the MBUX system, or your RFID card.

App or MBUX: Use the app or MBUX interface to begin the charging process.

RFID Cards: After plugging in the charging gun, tap the charging station screen (if applicable) and then scan your RFID card at the designated scanner on the charging station.

To view charging costs, select a charging location in the app or system, then click on a specific charging point. You’ll find an option labeled 'Charging Cost Details,' where you can review the associated rates.

Customers are charged based on the standard rates of the charging station operator managing the specific station. The exact price per kilowatt hour or per minute, along with the estimated total cost to reach the target battery charge level, is displayed on the MBUX multimedia system or in the Mercedes-Benz App prior to charging. This ensures maximum cost transparency for public charging sessions.

To ensure uninterrupted access to our charging network, we kindly request that you complete payment for your previous charging session. You will receive a secure payment link via SMS or email.

Please be aware that our system requires payment for each completed charging session before a new session can be initiated. Failure to pay for the previous session will result in a temporary suspension of your charging privileges, as your account will be locked. You will be unable to start a new charging session until the outstanding balance is settled. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a smooth and efficient charging experience for all our customers. If you have already made a payment, please disregard this notice. Currently, MB.CHARGE Public is only available in India and cross-border charging is not supported. However, expansions to additional markets are anticipated in the future.
