The Katalyst Program is a four-year initiative aimed at empowering socio-economically disadvantaged women pursuing STEM education in Pune. Partnering with Human Capital for Third Sector, the program supports 50 engineering students by providing financial aid, laptops, medical insurance, skill enhancement training, and personalized mentoring. This comprehensive support addresses the underrepresentation of women from low-income backgrounds in management roles, reduces financial burdens on their families, and fosters holistic development and leadership skills. By bridging the gender divide and preparing these students for future leadership roles, Katalyst aims to create a more equitable and skilled workforce for India.

Our partnership with Lila Poonawalla Foundation for the Undergraduate Scholarships and Skill Building Program is empowering 61 financially challenged, yet academically outstanding, girl students from Pune. This four-year initiative aims to provide financial support and enhance their employability through skill development programs, industry visits, leadership sessions, and personalized mentoring. We are committed to nurturing these young talents, preparing them for successful careers in the mainstream industry.

We have undertaken the Green School Transformation Project, with Yuva Unstoppable. It focuses on upgrading basic infrastructure in 19 girl schools across Pune district. Running through FY 2022-23 and FY 2023-24, the project introduces essential facilities such as WASH improvements, rainwater harvesting, solar power systems, and smart classrooms. Addressing issues like unsanitary wash areas and dilapidated classroom conditions, the project enhances hygiene, provides clean facilities, and fosters a more engaging learning environment through technology. By integrating solar energy and rainwater harvesting, the initiative promotes eco-friendly practices and ensures a better learning experience, ultimately improving student attendance, retention, and academic performance.

To tackle the growing issue of kidney failure in rural areas, we had donated to Dr. Bhausaheb Sardesai Talegaon Rural Hospital to enhance its dialysis treatment capabilities. This initiative was taken in the FY 2022-23 and aims to address the hospital's critical need for additional hemodialysis machines. The facility is operated by a Charitable Trust and provides affordable medical care primarily to individuals from lower socio-economic backgrounds. By adding four new hemodialysis machines, the hospital has significantly increased its capacity to treat more patients simultaneously, reduce waiting time, and offer specialized care for severe kidney conditions. This project has greatly benefitted the community, improving access to essential treatments for those who might have otherwise faced financial or logistical barriers.

To enhance waste management and sanitation in Kuruli village, Mercedes-Benz India has generously donated a garbage collection vehicle. This initiative was undertaken during the FY 2022-23, addresses the challenges posed by the village’s recent population surge and increased waste generation. This new vehicle has significantly improved the efficiency of garbage collection, ensuring more organized and timely waste disposal. As a result, the village is benefitted from improved sanitation, has reduced health hazards related to improper waste management, and has overall been in better living conditions and public health.

Mercedes-Benz's Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics course is an eminent flagship program that actively supports the Government's 'Skill India' initiative. This ADAM course is a specialized vocational training program offered jointly by Mercedes-Benz Academy, India, in collaboration with Institutes. It is designed to meet the growing demand for skilled automotive professionals and equips aspiring engineers with the latest world-class automotive technology skills. This course focuses on developing multidisciplinary competencies to navigate modern automotive technology challenges which addresses industry’s demand for skilled professionals. Mercedes- Benz India provides scholarship to the students from lower economic background, from each institute annually.
