Pune: India’s largest luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz today strengthened its position in the luxury performance segment by adding two new models to its coveted high-performance AMG line-up. The Born Bold – AMG C 63 Coupé and by the racers for the racers– AMG GT R Coupé are the latest additions to the Mercedes-AMG portfolio in India. With the  introduction of these two new AMGs, Mercedes-Benz India firmly underlines its strong presence in the performance car segment, which grew at a robust 54% in 2019. Mercedes- AMG has established its position as a highly successful sports car and performance brand with numerous attainments from motorsports for developing unique road-going vehicles. Both the new AMG Coupés continue to raise the bar for design innovation, class performance and cutting-edge technology. 

 

Martin Schwenk, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India digitally launched the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupé and AMG GT R Coupé at the company’s Centre of Excellence in Chakan, Pune.

Speaking on the occasion, Martin Schwenk, Managing Director and CEO, MercedesBenz India commented, “With a strong market presence, supported by a wide portfolio of performance cars and a dedicated retail network, our AMG strategy has helped us in cementing our market leadership in the luxury performance car segment. Encouraging customer demand for our top-end AMGs emerging both from metro and non-metro markets validates our efforts to introduce new products in the performance segment. Our decision of introducing these two products is aimed at expanding the top-of the pyramid performance segment, which has witnessed encouraging demand in 2019. We are confident that the AMG C 63 Coupé and the AMG GT R will continue to create momentum and further expand the segment.
