Awareness about the health problems in rural parts of India is a major drawback. Access to primary health care facilities and awareness about health issues is lacking in almost all rural parts of Maharashtra. To understand the health of the villagers in Khed taluka, MB India in collaboration with Shashwat Trust, initiated basic health check-up camps, targeting 800 villagers from 6-7 different villages from Chas-Kaman Dam catchment area. This resulted in identifying the major health problems amongst the rural people and helped them by providing treatment facilities.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014, ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Yojana’ is a campaign that promotes cleanliness and aims at complete eradication of open defecation. In support with the same initiative and under ‘Swachh Bharat-Swachh Vidyalaya’ campaign, Mercedes-Benz India constructed two toilet blocks in two schools, Valape and Dadachiwadi villages of Goa and 10 different rural schools from Khed & Ambegaon taluka of Pune district, to spread awareness about the health and hygiene importance at school level.

Pollution in urban areas is significantly at rise, and Delhi being the largest polluting city, it contributes to large percent of air pollution. To address these issues, MB India provided a Road Sweeping Truck which helps in reducing the air pollution and consequently improve health of the public.
