The all-new Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ and GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupé

Its dynamics and temperament are impossible to ignore: the new  Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé is captivating at first glance – especially the sporty and elegant Coupé profile with its sensational lines.

One of the most striking exterior features of the new Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé is without doubt the signature AMG radiator grille: with its vertical fins in high-gloss chrome and the unmistakable AMG logo, it makes it clear straight away what you can expect from a Mercedes-AMG exterior.

Inspirational design meets a fully digital display with flexible presentation options, enabling information to be truly experienced. Choice of exclusive five display styles: "Classic", "Sport", AMG specific "Supersport", "Understated" and "Standard". It meets the highest of standards in terms of display quality and operating convenience. Display cluster comprising two fully digital colour displays in a flat-screen look, each with a screen diagonal of 12.3 inches and a resolution of 1920 x 720 pixels with AMG specific content.

This AMG steering wheel is fully finished in non-slip DINAMICA microfibre - for a perfect grip and precise steering. The hallmark AMG flattened shape has been adopted from motorsport and underlines the sportiness of the cockpit. Ergonomically positioned touch control buttons ensure intuitive user-friendliness and are conducive to focused driving.

A cool or warm drink always within reach - a convenience enjoyed by the driver and front passenger thanks to the temperature-controlled cup holders. Holds bottles, cans and mugs up to 0.5 l securely in place in the center console. A temperature of between 8° and 55° C can be maintained, according to what is required.

At the heart of the hallmark AMG driving dynamics is the electrified 3.0-litre engine with twin turbochargers and an electric additional compressor. The 6-cylinder in-line engine has an output of 320 kW (435 hp)[1] and peak torque of 520 Nm. Its EQ Boost starter-alternator temporarily delivers an additional 16 kW (22 hp) of output and 250 Nm[1] of torque, and it also feeds the 48-volt on-board electrical system.

The AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL specifically compensates for rolling movements and optimises lateral dynamics during dynamic driving manoeuvres. This results in more precision and agility as well as the hallmark AMG driving experience.

The agile AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive features signature AMG power distribution – for direct response and fully variable torque distribution between front and rear axle. The result: no loss in traction, even when driving dynamically at the limit.

The AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G 9-speed transmission, with particularly short shift times and double-declutching function when downshifting (depending on the selected drive program), awaits your commands.

The variably adjustable exhaust flaps give you the option to change the sound of the vehicle at the press of a button. Depending on the drive mode, the sound characteristics change from unobtrusive comfort to maximum emotive appeal. The easily audible double-declutch plus the controlled misfires make your driving experience even more emotionally appealing.

ESP^® with permanently active traction logic ensures that the engine output is transferred to the road to optimum effect thanks to targeted braking intervention in the event that one of the drive wheels starts to spin. ESP^® system is adjusted via AMG Dynamics agility functions to the desired vehicle characteristics.

3 individual control strategies are available using the ESP^® button:

• ESP^® ON: for high safety when adapting the system to the sporty character

• ESP^® SPORT HANDLING MODE: for enhanced vehicle dynamics – with special tuning of over and understeer intervention plus engine torque intervention

• ESP^® OFF: targeted deactivation of the ESP^® system for very sporty driving manoeuvres on closed-off race circuits or for off-road routes

AMG Dynamics comprises the intelligent control electronics for all vehicle-specific agility functions, for example steering, torque distribution, all-wheel drive and active stabilizers.

The motorist can select from the following AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive programs:

• "C" (Comfort): balanced drive program with comfortable suspension.

• "S" (Sport): greater agility and dynamics with sporty and firm suspension   tuning and spontaneous throttle response

• "S+" (Sport+): further enhanced sportiness owing to higher dynamic tuning of the suspension and drive system

• "Slippery": for optimized handling on icy and snow-covered roads

• "Trail": for roads and tracks with a loose surface, e.g. gravel and also unpaved forest paths and country tracks

• "Sand": for optimum handling on sand and sandy roads

• "I" (Individual): provides the option to adjust the parameters for the drive system, AMG Dynamics, suspension and steering, among other things, according to personal preferences

Manual "M" mode selectable via M button: provides the option of carrying out shift commands manually in any drive program via the steering wheel shift paddles

The 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine and AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive catapult the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 4MATIC+ Coupé and its S-model variant to a whole new level. The result: 420 kW / 450 kW of power with torque of up to 750 Nm / 850 Nm. The integrated starter-alternator not only provides additional thrust, it also recuperates braking energy. A modern 48 volt on-board electrical system reliably provides energy and the additional compressor supplies torque from just above idle speed.

The intelligent AMG DYNAMIC control electronics form the basis for the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive programs and ensure a highly variable driving experience – from moderate through sporty to ultra-dynamic. The driver selects either the desired pre-configured program via the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT switch or sets up the vehicle configuration himself/herself using the "Individual" program.
