CAE
MBRDI engineers build finite element models of automotive subsystems and full vehicles (ANSA, Medina, HyperMesh, Primer) to carry out linear, nonlinear and dynamic analyses. These analyses performed using tools like Nastran, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Permas, Femfat, and Autoform. The team is involved in different loops of virtual validation for various subsystems and contributes significantly to the improvement of design, cost and weight.
- Crash (structure, Body-in-White (BiW), occupant safety, pedestrian protection)
- Stiffness, strength, durability (chassis, BiW, components, cars, truck full vehicle)
- Powertrain (NVH, strength, stiffness)
- NVH (BiW)
- Sheet Metal Forming
CFD
Computational Fluid Dynamics uses numerical methods and algorithms to analyze and optimize fluid flow. MBRDI engineers contribute towards minimizing exhaust emissions and enhance fuel efficiency. We work in the areas of advanced internal combustion engines as well as vehicle thermal management to improve vehicle quality and reliability. Our simulation methods also serve to set-up and optimize the production processes.
Electrical/Electronics
Design and development of automotive E/E systems for applications in powertrain, body electronics, comfort, and safety and research on fuel cells and hybrid electric vehicle using Matlab, Simulink, Dymola, Aspen Plus, Reactis, Mint, CANoe, Tessy, MTest, Time Partition Testing
- Data and signal analysis
- Systems modeling and simulation
- Model-based software development
- Function implementation in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow
- Auto-code generation using TargetLink and Real Time Workshop (RTW)
- Test case modeling in Time Partition Testing (TPT)
- Hardware-, Software-, Model- and Processor-in-the-Loop testing
- AUTOSAR conformance testing and product evaluation
- Tool development in Java / C++
