The spotlight at Mercedes-Benz has always been on safety. Now, with around a dozen new or enhanced assistance systems the E-Class has written a new chapter in the long history of passenger car safety. The Adaptive High-Beam Assist, for example recognises oncoming traffic and vehicles moving ahead, and controls the headlamps to achieve the best possible road illumination without dazzling other users. When the road ahead is clear, the system performs a gentle transition to high beam automatically.
