To enhance ergonomic qualities and overall comfort and safety, we have developed the COMAND management and display system. The COMAND display, a high-resolution 8-inch TFT colour monitor, is located next to the instrument cluster and is thus right in your field of vision.

The system is operated using the COMAND controller – a rotary control switch positioned at the end of the armrest. It provides access to the COMAND menus, in which you can change the settings for anything from automatic climate control to the multi-contour seats (optional equipment for the CL 500 and the CL 500 4MATIC) and ambient lighting (optional for the CL 500 and CL 500 4MATIC). The COMAND function keys are used to directly operate the audio systems, telephone, navigation system and seat settings. They are located in front of the COMAND controller.

Accessories available through the accessories programme make it possible for you to connect your iPod® to the audio system via Interface Kit. This way you can choose your favourite music comfortably, with the multifunction steering wheel and the multifunction display.

Mercedes-Benz is the world’s first car maker to offer automatic parking guidance with radar-based measurement of the parking space. This system recognises the length of a parking space when driving past, and shows it on the multifunction display as a symbolic representation. A blue icon indicates that the space is large enough.
