Built to handle the rigors of long distance travel over the most severe road conditions, the Mercedes Benz intercity coach makes its presence felt with a look that combines simple elegance with a reassuring air of robustness. The bold windscreen with its sculpted front face is visually impressive from the outside and offers a panoramic view from the inside. The windscreen, gracefully integrated into the body design, is aerodynamically efficient and aesthetically arresting. The curvature of the mirror prevents raindrops from sticking to it guaranteeing high functionality even in difficult weather conditions, and the distinctive three-pointed star proudly emblazoned on its plinth presents a look reminiscent of a Mercedes-Benz passenger car.
Viewed from the side the design lines sweep sleekly down and back into the front entrance to create a visual link between the front and the side of the door. The glass trim design offers passengers a full view of passing landscapes, while the discreet black exterior mirrors assure passenger privacy while completing the look of a sophisticated luxury coach.
The functionality of the coach’s design is evinced from several elements incorporated in the trim. Such as the air filter intake. Positioned strategically just above and behind the rear wheel on the left side of the vehicle it is away from the dust clouds formed while the coach is in motion. Service flaps are designed to allow the coach operators easy access to the air bellow, air filter and radiator without compromising the visual integrity of the design.
